Four Square overthrow

Ok, so this is probably the nerdiest blog i've ever posted.

So, i'm starting to get into this foursquare thing and have even gone so far as added my building as a place. I check-in somewhat regularly and was trying to build up to be the mayor (baby steps to world domination).

Monday morning I come in and some fool named Philip K is major of MY building! This dude isn't even in our office directory.

Now i'm spending my time at home reading up on how to overthrow him, but my ADD get's the better of me and I do thinks like forget to check-in, etc.

Who know foursquare would be the new social networking game of risk?

Mark my words, i will pull a Napoleon and overthrow this guy!

Census Says!

When sitting down with my mixed buddy in crime, he asked me a series of questions in order to fill out my portion of the census.

I couldn't help but be confused because in one portion I was fully identified - Hispanic, Mixed, etc. but the moment you got to the racial part, I was lost...

Hispanics (anyone from Mexico down) are to check white. This single handily took away not only my Hispanic identity but also my mixed race. It left me annoyed but whatever.

Later I was talking to my mom and my dad (step-dad) whose mom is German and dad is from South Carolina and many generations back had Native American mix marked Native American.

I myself am 1/8 Blackfoot but because I have no documentation (big surprise) didn't check this. Instead, I'm just white.

No offense, I know lots of white people, some are even my friends (sorry, trying to be funny here), but when you have your identity taken away and know others who don't identify are putting down everything and the kitchen sink, it makes you wonder really, is this system working? Is it worth the how many millions/billion dollars to implement?

It also made me think about my friends, so there is Sue, (that's her white name) she's Persian...what does she check-Census says white too. REALLY!? There are my mixed friends...what do they do? There is my Indian friends, wow, census says Asian.

People always talk about America the melting pot and how you wont be able to make everyone happy, but seriously, if America has known they are the melting pot for how many flipping years? You think they would have progressed from this.

70 degrees

Can I just say I think there is a direct correlation (sp?) between the temperature and my mood.
And perhaps it's an inverse correlation (no sp check still didn't come up with the right sp) between my productivity and he temp. For instance, I'm writing this on my lunch, sitting outside instead of going to my desk and eating while working.
I don't mind, this is why I am a Californian and perhaps why I can never live in Hawaii.

Let there be naps!

I am conducting a study to determine when it is deemed socially acceptable to take naps again.
I don't officially know when I "grew out" of his practice, nor do I know the age where it becomes allowable again, however, both my little cousin and my great grandma are allowed to do it. No questions asked.
I'll have to get back to you on this one.
